Education Pioneered the development of Kohanga Reo throughout New Zealand. Founded the first Kura Kaupapa Maori for New Zealand at Hoani Waititi Marae in 1985. Inaugural Chairperson of Te Runanga Kura Kaupapa Maori O Aotearoa. Founded numerous Student Support Programmes & Policies in Education thought New Zealand. Culture Built Hoani Waititi Marae (first Urban Intertribal Marae). Created and Developed numerous socio-political programmes base at Hoani Waititi Marae. Established and Promoted the Iwi Runanga Concept for Tribal Authorities. Reunified the Ngati Kahungunu tribe (tripartite division for 60 years). Appointed Chairman of Ngati Kahungunu Tribal Runanga in 1982. Created the New Zealand National School of Maori Weaponry. Appointed Tumu Whakarae (Sacerdotal Head and Master) of National School of Maori Weaponry. Established Te Roopu Manutaki Maori Cultural Group. Composed and Led Maori component of The 1990 Commonwealth Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Race Relations Pioneered the development of the Race Relations Office in New Zealand. Appointed Chieft Executiave Officer of Race Relations Office in New Zealand (1972-80). Welfare and Justice Established a Community Court Restorative Justice Programme for Criminal Offenders. |
